GoDaddy has extended the deadline to use domain backorder credits to October 7, giving customers an extra 60 days.
The company began phasing out its backorder service last year, originally setting a 12-month deadline. While GoDaddy's backorder system never rivaled major dropcatchers like SnapNames or DropCatch, it was once valued for a loophole that allowed cheap acquisitions—until it was closed.
Now, credits can only be used as discounts on GoDaddy Auctions bids. Some customers feel a refund or broader credit use (like on closeouts) would be fairer.
