The .top domain registry has finally addressed its contractual breaches with ICANN, nearly a year after being issued a breach notice in July 2024.
ICANN cited failures including:
Ignoring URS (Uniform Rapid Suspension) requests
Lacking a DNS abuse complaint process
Missing abuse contact details on its site
Falling behind on ICANN payments
To resolve the issues, .top clarified its URS handling process, added abuse contact info, and paid outstanding fees.
With nearly 5 million registrations, .top remains the second-largest new TLD, driven largely by low-cost domain sales.
