Kazakh Businessman Loses Cybersquatting Claim Over Critical Website

Kenes (Kenges) Rakishev, a Kazakh oligarch linked to a Biden-related probe, lost a cybersquatting case over the domain kenesrakishev.com.

Rakishev had previously owned the domain but let it expire in 2023. Felix Sater later acquired it in an expired domain auction and used it for a gripe site featuring content from the Biden impeachment inquiry.

The WIPO panel ruled against Rakishev because he failed to prove trademark rights to his name — a requirement under UDRP rules.

Despite the ruling, the domain now redirects to Rakishev’s official site, although Sater remains listed as the domain owner.

Rakishev was represented by Schillings International LLP.
