Google to Consolidate Search Under Single Global Domain

Published on May 14, 2025 | By OMWEB

Google is streamlining its Search service by transitioning all users to a single domain, google.com, regardless of their location. Previously, users were directed to country-specific domains like google.co.uk or google.in to receive localized results.

With this change, Google will phase out these country-code domains and automatically redirect users to google.com. Despite the unified domain, search results will continue to reflect users\' current geographic location. This move aims to simplify the Search experience while maintaining relevant, location-based results.
