Newfold Digital is officially retiring one of its most recognizable brands — Web.com — and will migrate all customer accounts to Network Solutions, another legacy domain and hosting provider under its umbrella.
Announced today, the transition is being positioned as seamless, with no expected downtime or disruptions for users. In most cases, customers will be able to log into Network Solutions using their existing Web.com credentials, and pricing structures will remain unchanged.
Notably, Web.com and Network Solutions already share a common backend, minimizing any user interface learning curve during the switch. The consolidation is likely to streamline operations and reduce brand overlap within Newfold’s extensive portfolio.
This move may also simplify things for domain investors, particularly those who use NameJet or SnapNames, as some of their domain assets may currently reside in Web.com accounts. With the migration, account consolidation and management should become easier.
By sunsetting Web.com, Newfold is further aligning its resources around fewer, more focused brands — a trend increasingly common among large digital infrastructure providers.
