Identity Digital to Raise Domain Prices on October 6

Identity Digital, the largest operator of top-level domains (TLDs), is set to increase prices across 231 of its extensionsstarting October 6. Standard prices will rise anywhere between 6% and 220%, depending on the extension.

Biggest Price Hikes

The steepest increases are in smaller, niche namespaces with fewer than 2,000 registrations:

  • .forex – more than doubles in price

  • .shiksha – more than doubles in price

  • .airforce – more than triples in price

For more widely-used extensions, notable changes include:

  • .church – up 45% to $45/year

  • .plus – up 31% to $42/year

  • .chat, .vision, .cool – each up 30%

In raw dollar terms, .lotto leads the pack:

  • + $100/year, climbing to $1,450 annually

Across all affected domains, the median increase is 12%.

The Good News

Not all prices are going up. A few extensions will see significant drops:

  • .gripe – from $23 → $5

  • .sarl – from $23 → $5

What Registrants Should Know

  • These prices are wholesale (registrar markups will apply).

  • Current registrants can lock in today’s rates for up to 10 years by renewing before October 6.

If you own or are considering one of these domains, now is the time to act.
